Has anyone in the UK seen this ad?

If so, where have you seen a continental type traffic controller in the UK?

Doesn't it drive you mad when they make adverts that aren't true to life?

What's the advert that you love to hate?

Yeah!! I noticed that. Its what is known as a cross jurisdiction ad. They make them then overdub music and accents. That way they get away with only making one advert but show it in loads of countries. Sometimes you will see the lips not synching up properly. That's where they have changed the accents.
Another to watch out for is documentaries on the Nat Geographic channel. They re-do the narration in a UK type accent as studies have shown the Brits do not respond to the American accent in an authoritative way. Make of that what you will.

I hate that advert!! Like any traffic controllers can dance like that when they have heartburn.
My worst advert has to be that one for Elephant.co.uk.... I just switch over when that come on.
The other one that I hate are the ones for speeding and drink driving... the shock tactics work there

i hate pretty much all adverts but the worst has to be mortgage/loan type ads (with the standard poorly constructed metaphor theme ie tightrope/ stranded / doors closing etc) what they're really saying is 'here, risk your home by getting a secured loan with us to replace you non secured loan'. i mean, ARGHHHH!!!! its enough to make you take a gun to a bloody clocktower!! ok well maybe not but its bloody infuriating.
personal injury ads really get on my t*ts too, "hey this country's turning into the USA, why not help it along that extra bit" [cheesy white-toothed grin *ping*].
i can't actually just sit and watch a full night of TV from about this time of year until february. if its not bloody too early chirstmas ads its winter sale ads, selling stupid happy fluffy warm feelings instead of the actuall tacky plastic rubbish thats really on sale.
and have you noticed that they're always on at the same time??? you cant even flick to avoid the things!
**brain explodes**

lol im not really this angry just when i watch ads... hence im on the compuer instead ;)

good point- also- how often do you give stomach remedies to traffic cops? it's not very good for health and safety!

i loathe all the anti ageing face cream adverts. They use combinations of words to make it sound scientifically credible such as nivea dnage. dnage? What's that? a bionic face lift? or a made up marketing word?

they no longer contain nutients, but they have nutrilium or something.

lesssaggyolium nowrinkleillium- it's utter rubbish.

My Hubby has taught my 4 year old son that all adverts are IDIOTS, with the Gaviscon one being a prime example.

"Is that Picture? I'm calling about a loan. Yes, we do have a mortgage". Drives me bonkers. If I was on the phone to a loan company (very unlikely) and my kid was shouting in the background "Mum, I can't find my trainers/scooter/y-fronts", I would go absolutely mad.

I agree with the person upthread - the Picture ad with that smarmy git talking to his new "friend" about the footie while wifey follows him round with the video camera. Who the hell videos their husband on the phone to loan company? Jeez!!
