Hi I had a condition called polyhydramnios, it was picked up at 25 weeks at consultants appointment but they were not concerned and did nothing about it. At 30 weeks my waters broke due to this condition and 17 days later my daughter was delivered naturally weighing 4lb 13oz. If you have this condition INSIST on having regular checkups as it can cause many problems including compressin of the umbilical cord, it can be a serios condition, in other cases the levels sort themselves out and the pregnancy continues as normal, but better safe than sorry, any worries contact the hospital immediatly.

The amount of water can vary throughout the day and throughout your pregnancy, so first, I wouldn't worry about it.
More water in the sac can sometimes- I reiterate sometimes- make it more possible for the cord to prolapse and give more opportunity for the cord to get wrapped around baby's neck. No worrying though. Cord prolapse is very rare and 75% of babies are born with the cord around their neck, looped once or several times, anyway.
Might be some other things involved, like onset of gestational diabetes, etc. They'll monitor you, but I repeat! DON'T WORRY!
Some days too much water, some days too low, some days perfect. You can't please them all. Just look after yourself, good diet and plenty of fluids.

It can sometimes be a sign of pre-eclampsia, I had too much water in my first pregancy, but then I had extra fluid everywhere. I later got more symptoms of pre-eclampsia and i had an emergency caesaran at 32 wks, (he weighed 2lb 15 but is now a healtthy 9 year old.) This was due to the midwife not being aware of the condition, so if you have any concerns PLEASE speak to your midwife, they are there for you. Don't let this play on your mind, ask questions don,t be afraid.

My mom had this with my sister. It means that there's too much fluid around the baby and as it gets bigger, it can move around more than it should. If the baby flips around too much the cord can wrap around it's neck. Also, too much fluid means that the baby will be inhaling too much when it 'practices' breathing. Then, when it's born, there can be fluid in the lungs and the baby may have a few problems breathing at first.

I had this with my last baby, i was told i had extra water and it could be caused by the baby not swalloing it as they do, and my baby could have a kink in its gullet, but everthing tuned out fine, but please dont worry my baby is now 15, and things have changed since then, good luck!

You should ask your doctor. My friend had this same situation and it was because her daughter had an intestinal blockage in utero. The baby also had many other health problems.
