It is called common courtesy. In other words, I may not agree with you-but you have the right to your own opinion just as I do.

Everyone had different views and beliefs, that is what makes each of us unique. However once someone crosses a boundary in society it can lead to a lot of other issues that come up. A really hot spot right now involves issues in regards to sex offenders. Have they committed crimes, yes, but there is such leniency in rating for sex offenders yet alone what constitutes a sex offender from a sexual predator? It ranges so much from court room to court room, state to state there is not common cannon. Before you flip out, take the case of the 73 year old Florida man IN A NURSING HOME for the last 9 years after a debilitating stroke that got a probation violation, but is not fully cognitive? How about the Arizona case where a 19 year old was convicted as a sex offender for sleeping with his 17 year old fiancee? Sometimes it's not the mistakes we make that people need to look at but the actions they make afterward that say who a person is.

No one ever has a wrong view or action. To each of us, our views and actions are right and justified. It is our responsibility not to tell others that their views or actions are wrong, but to talk to them and to try to understand why they feel or acted a particular way. Understanding others views and actions makes us a stronger and more understanding person, and the difference in opinions is what makes us unique. Learning how others think, is to learn to live with others, which in turns is one step closer to peace.

Respect comes easily for only pre-determined values, within the acceptable parameters.
All innovative actions, irrespective of even the good results, are usually recognised and respected posthumously.

That depends. If the views and ideas are passive and don't have any concrete effect, just say "I respect that". If they are hurtful to someone or something, other actions apply.

I suppose it's about respecting DIFFERENCES. We may think they're wrong, but they have walked a different life path to us and will have a different way of seeing things.
So, people may think I'm wrong, but I hope at least they'll respect that I have a point of view even if it is different to theirs.

I can love the actor but not approve of the show or the character they project.
