There was nothing which had any shape or form, just darkness, silence.
And that's the way it was once.

Can you give me some feed back on this?
If it was like this at one time, who created it than?

I know the answer, thought for the day, especially for nonbelievers.

If could answer a question with a question... Who said that there has to be a creator for everything? Why can't things just exist?
With me and these folks (mostly) we say show me your theory, your assumptions, your critical data... before we start to agree with what your theory is. Then somebody will pick up on the theory, exclaim to us all.. "if this theory is true... we can test, and verify it". Now if they proceed to disprove the theory, all is well and good! The guy or girl who came up with the theory discovers the mistake and how it was made, and goes back to the old drawing board.
Now you may say that, the Gods cured that scrape on your arm, and I would say that the platlets in your blood did it. That my friend is a genuine difference in opinion! One of those statements is something that can be proven or disproven, the other is a faith based statement .
In short you don't go believing in gods, or the various faiths because you want to lisen to any forms of reasoning other than your own, or your leaders', or your (pick one) holy book. It seems to me that the more we find out of our natural world, the less the gods get blamed (or thanked) for doing this or that act. This phenomena is called the gods of the gaps, " if we don't know what caused it... god had to have done it." This is going to be your refuge, and your refuge will get smaller as time goes marching on. Good luck with it.
I hope this matches the answer you had in mind. It may not be comfortable... but it IS provable.

If you're arguing that "you can't create something from nothing", then who created God? Your answer is "he always existed". Yet you question others who suggest that primevel matter/elements/gravity, etc. could have always existed. You question the possibility of our current theories regarding stellar evolution and the Big Bang as if they are fantasy, yet they are understood and agreed upon by the most intelligent representatives of our species. It is the idea of creationism that is spawed by fantasy.....that an all-knowing, all-powerful entity is responsible for everything that know, including it's faults, imperfections, and miniscule details that no entity could ever foresee, and that magically, this entity that has "always existed" just snapped his/her/its fingers/limbs/claws to create us and everything that we know? And if we believe this we will be granted an eternity of happiness after we die? Oh, and by the way, if you are a Christian, then it has already been decided that if you haven't accepted Jesus as your savior then you will burn in Hell for eternity. That means that anyone alive prior to Jesus (ancient civilizations, Greek philosophers, etc.), believers of all other religions, and the innocent children born in small African / South American tribes with no connections to the outside world or no knowledge of our false, profitable, corrupt, commercial, organized religions, will all burn in your Hell that you have created.

I know I sound biased, but I admit that the idea of a God is possible. That's because anything is possible. Who knows......maybe we're all just part of a large ant farm sitting in the middle of an alien zoo. We'll never know, so we should not discredit any possibility. That's why I have a problem with organized religion. To you, there is no other explanation. You just try to discredit everyone else's.

I believe in God, but your logic is faulty. Just because there was "nothing" doesn't mean it couldn't come about on its own. What you're arguing is what scientists call the "anthropomorphic principle": that is, the fact that we exist makes us think that somehow we are special (this could then be taken that someone created us); but if we didn't exist, then obviously we couldn't think that (or, actually, think at all). What I'm getting at is that just because all the things are here, and we exist, does not prove the existence of God.

I can not imagine the state of things before the big bang, however, I can imagine the state of things before the appearance of semi intelligent humans on earth, that was a time without superstitions, fictional Gods and super beings and especially without stupid believers in the things that are not there.

There was a cause without cause. There was stuff. Magnetism and gravity had a lot to do with it. I beleive that this withdrawl will happen once again, nature's own way of replenishing itself, much like a fire in the Pine Barrens.

My life is guided by a million things, which can seem like one thing.

if you're asking WHO created it?? then my best bet is god of course! (from a scientific point of view and religious point)
as far as i know a clear answer as to what was before the big bang has not been successfully resolved yet, even from a religious stand point.
but one thing is for sure, for thousands of years since homo sapein appear, many natural disaster, such as lighting strike and earthquake were considered literally an act of god, untill scientist began to understand the real causes of lighting and earthquake.
therefore untill the answer to your question to be fully understand, please keep an open mind~

watch the movie:"hitch-hiker's guide to the galaxy"
it really makes you wonder...!
i don't doubt the existence of God, the theory of aliens living on other galaxies and creating, ruining and recreating our planet might sound a little exaggerating and well, hell, stupid! but does it really?! i mean there are a lot of signs mentioned in "Chariots of the Gods by Eric Von Daniken" and they do sound pretty convincing...!
