Lifelong learning is finally realizing that everything in life has/had and will ALWAYS have a connection. Knowing how to listen to the universe and it's "lessons" (because there is a potential lesson in every situation) and then knowing what your part is in the midst of all of "IT" (and btw, you can't buy this IT on Ebay) ;)

What is YOUR purpose here on Earth?? WHY are you here?

For me, at 36, lifelong learning has just begun.

Listen. Listen. Listen. I can't stress that enough. Not just to adults, but kids, people of all occupations (or the unemployed) and things in and out of nature.

There are two things I feel are important to mention:

1. Everything happens for a reason=there is a reason for everything.

2. When you ask the right questions, the right answers will come.

Learning is a process which continues till a person dies.

From the day one when a child is borne, learning becomes a habit.

It is believed that a child is a best learner, but why ?

I think the brain of a child is not pre-occupied by any ideas or views about the things around him. Therefore it is easy for him to learn and grasp quickly.

On the other hand when the same child is grown up, he is used to be having few concepts, views and often pre-occupied. Thats why it is not easy to change perception of looking at the things, of a grown up person.

Therefore whenever a solution to a problem is saught for, different views emerge from different people as per their perception of life.

Though irrelevent to mention here, any problem can be solved if the people just keep their notions, beleifs, views and idiology , aside and keep the mind open like a child.

What I do is that every morning I start like a child so that I can learn the things without a bias.

i dont really understand your question.. because isnt the phrase/term "lifelong learning" pretty self explanatory? but any how, i will do my best to answer your question.. because.. in a way it sounds quite interesting.

lifelong learning.
i define it as.... our life...we learn things, everyday, every hour, every minute of our life, whether we are aware of it or not. from the moment we are born we.. learnt to take our very first gasp of air.. and later we learn to walk.
then there comes school, which in my definition is a place where we learn how to manage our learning.. and then of course, learn more...
in our latter years of life, we learn to care for our children, we learn to adjust to our new lifestyles..
because it takes a whole life time to learn all these things.. its called "life long learning.. "

The world is an ocean of knowledge, whatever we learn is just a drop of it, every preson should love to learn at all ages ....
A living example is H.H.Acharya Mahapragna (terapanth-Jain sect)...he is the seer of lakhs of followers and hundred of disciples...aged about 90 years....authored several hundred books....a living saint...reverred by national leaders.....but still calls himself .....a vidyarthi (a student).

With every "relationship" You learn something more.

Every man — every new man is a new teacher to me.
