Go to bed early enough so that you get the number of hours sleep that is suitable for you (some people need more sleep than others)
Do not drink coffee or alcholic beverages just before bedtime.
Exercise about 2 hours before bedtime, you'll wake up feeling more refreshed & raring to go.
Buy an alarm clock with a loud sound and do not hit the snooze bar when it goes off.

dude, thats EXACTLY how i feel every morning!
and ive tried many things that those people above me have suggested.. alarm clocks dont work.. i just got fed up and threw the batteries away. i cant drink alot of water so i really need to pee in the morning coz i find it that as long as you stay in bed.. you just have no need to pee! another thing someone suggested was sleep earlier. but that doesnt work either! on the weekends, i kept sleeping until it was time to sleep the next day! sleep is ....addicting :]
what do you do at work? or at school.. you gotta start a very FUN project or something.. one that you are really excited about. that way, you would be motivated to wake up early.

i am struggling with this one my whole life :) if u are anything like me alarm clocks dont work because i just dont hear them and even if i do there must be a very good reason to actually get out of the bed. i guess u have to look at the "how", how u stop yourself from waking up, or even at the "why". i have trouble sleeping at night because i am too anxious, i sleep very late so it is almost impossible to wake up in the morning. we need regular sleep hours to do this, sleep early to get up early. i ve worked a lot with my depressive feelings too (this almost always has to do with this one too). good quality of sleep also helps so that u feel rested in the morning and this may have to do with a variety of reasons. having a day schedule also helps, i only manage to wake up early when i have to go to work or made a commitment for some other reason. i still havent managed it completely though, weekends disorganise me completely. my partner does not work in the morning too and this makes it worse, seeing him sleep till late too. i truly think this goes much deeper, but i am not willing to share this here :)

The only thing that has ever worked for me is to stay awake all night then force myself to be active that day till it is late enough that I will only get 7 hours of sleep till I have to wake up the next day. Then for a week not take any naps. Napping though the day is my biggest problem so I try to find things that interest me and keep me busy till night time. Good luck!

Always wake up at the same time--do not sleep in on weekends--and prepare a small treat for yourself so it will be waiting when you get up(the last part I just made up but it seems logical).
However the first part is solid advice. If you get up at different times you are in effect creating 'jet lag' and won't sleep well so it is harder to get up early

along with the above suggestions (alarm clock on other side of room, plenty of sleep), maybe you could try setting your alarm 15 minutes early for a week. then the next week another 15 minutes, etc...
or you could get a pet (or a kid... lol) and feed them very early every day.... they will not let you oversleep
good luck and God bless :)

Drink a lot of water before you go to sleep. When you get up to pee, resist the urge to go back to bed.
