When they used the atom gun and shot atoms through a slot and it created a diverse patern that they didnt forsee. When they observed the atoms shooting through the slot with a camera to understand why it created the patern it did, but then the atoms did not create the same patern. Only while being observed by the camera did the atoms create an uncharachteristic patern. Does this mean an atom is 'aware' and has a soul? Or is this how string theory and chaos theory butt heads??

You are describing one of the experiments that made us aware of Quantum Mechanics in the 20s. (String Theory and Chaos Theory are something else...)
Quantum Mechanics is the theory that describes the behaviour of fundamental particles like protons, electrons and photons in terms of probabilities.

You can find more info on QM here:

And here on the experiment you are describing:

i'm waiting till that is examined. Now that the LHC is quite a lot waiting, the subsequent few years might want to produce some measurable outcomes that confirm even if string theory and M theory make precise predictions. i have also not in any respect heard it referred to as "God theory." it really is a unifying theory of physics because it explains the 4 forces, yet that doesn't recommend it solutions all of our questions with reference to the organic universe.

It means that the camera has a big o' electromagnetic field. This is where the Heisenberg principle is demonstrated clearly. The nature of what is being observed changes only because it is observed. The same can happen in observing wildlife, humans, souffles.

I out-rightly reject your assertion that atoms have souls.

i think instead of atoms it was particles...what happens on the sub atomic level is that when particles are observed or measured using a classical apperatus they lose their quantum state and fall into a classical state...Example...a particle can be spin up or spin down or both at the same time..but when it is observed or measured it falls into 1 spin or the other, due to the interference of the measuring device...Think of a dog when left home by itself,he runs around all over the house chewing on stuff ( Quantum state) but when you come home he sits in one place looking guilty

The camera has electro magnetivity. It might also have been an effect of gravity. Your remark that an atom has a soul makes me smile. "To see the world in a grain of sand" harharharharhar

What you are asking has nothing to do with string theory. String theory deals with the multi dimensional universe.
