Go to "Tools" in the top taskbar
Internet Options >>>> Clear History
But you might need to disable "Auto Complete", which is found in
Tools>>>>> Content too.

click start , control panel, Internet options, under the general tab click clear history. That should do it. If you want to go further, delete cookies and delete files and it will clear all temp. files. Then no one can do a file search and see where you have been. And it also frees up space.

Go the the my computer icon on your desktop and double click on it
then to the Control Panel tab
then to the Internet Options tab
then to the General tab
and click on Clear History.
Your secrets are safe now !

You can do that by going to Tools then selecting Options from the list now you can clear history cookies and others and determine how many history item saved on memory .

If you are using Windows Internet Explorer:
Left click on Tools
Left click on Internet Options
Left click on Delete Cookies
Left click on Delete Files
Left click on Clear History
Left click on OK
Close IE then reopen
If you are using Firefox:
Left click on Tools
Left click on Clear Private Data

Left click on Tools
Left click on Options
Left click on Privacy
Left click on Settings
Check all boxes including Clear private data when closing Firefox
Left click on OK button
Close Firefox then reopen.
If all else fails use My Computer, then go to
Delete cookies from here where username is your account name
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Cookies
and here
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
Delete History from here where username is your account name
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\History

Go into the options menu and clear the cookies, temporary files and history. depending on what browser you are using these are in slightly different places.

depends what history...
for the browser history and cache you have recived an answer...
for windows history and cache...in my computer> right click on a drive....properties..>and some where there is something with clean
