The cheapest way is to give your local gas guy a ring and he'll bring a 'sniffer' machine out and locate it for you. Don't buy one! They are very expensive!!!!! Oh! and no naked flames either! Have a good day!

I would call your local gas man, to see if there is a leak. After he has determined this or not, I would invest in a carbon minoxide detector. This will go off if their is a leak, make sure to put it in your kitchen. I have a gas stove, and every once and a while I can smell gas. What I do, is just check that all the pilots are on, on top of your stove and in the oven. Hope this helps!

Yes there is, it's called LPG detector. It detects LPG leakage and gives off an alarm. If CNG is being used as cooking gas, there is a CNG detector available too!

old school, Mix some dish washing detergent and water in a spray bottle and squirt it on the fittings if you see bubbles your leak is found, also, a few years back there was a recall on some of the metal flexible gas lines that were miss threaded and must be replaced. No matter how snug you tightened them they leaked.

Yes it is called a TIFF 8800, one of many models available, but mine cost me $350.00, if you are not in the business, really not worth buying, call the utilities or an HVAC company

A naked flame should do the trick.
