there are electronic leak detectors that plumbers use to check fittings after an installation but you can also use slightly dilluted liquid dish soap to check pipe joints for leaks.Simply squirt a little onto the joint if it bubbles then you have a leak.If you have had recent work done to your gas lines contact the plumber and ask him to recheck the joints gas fitting work should always be done by a proffesional.

Yes it's called a NOSE. A service man will find it with a detector or special soap bubble soluton or both.

yes , go to home depot or Lowe's. they have a variety of leak detectors much like smoke detectors
