No, but why do you think it would happen? John Prescott is deputy Prime Minister and as far as I'm aware, has no plans to try any higher. Gordon Brown is set to take over from Tony Blair next April.

I appreciate that Tony Bliar will do anything to prevent Gordon becoming his succesor but Prescott? I think not.'Hakuna Matata' just remember Prescott spent a few years in the Merchant Navy so he knows where the lifeboats are !.

argh!!!!!!!just what i dont need on a sunday morning-the vision of big john presiding over us all.
dont worry my friend-its never ever going to happen-when tonys away he gets to play at it for a bit,but hes not really got any power and he'd never be allowed to make any important decisions.the only reason that j.p is allowed to do this is for some reason he appeals to the old labour lot and he's left in the cabinet to appease them i guess.im not sure about what will happen with gordon brown either-all i can say is that when labour got in in 97 i was really happy and optimistic about what was coming, and now a few years along the line im almost(but not quite)as cheesed off as i was after all the years of tory rule-i grew up in a mining town in yorkshire and saw what the strike did to the community there-i thought at the time that only a conservative government would do such a thing to the miners-but i think that if it happened now-tonys lot wouldnt treat them any different.as the song says-"meet the new boss, same as the old boss"ho hum-think ill start my own party up

Certainly not! He must be one of the biggest buffoons ever to be in a top job in politics. The ship is sinking and Prescott will go down with the ship.

Probably not, and it isn't going to happen. You may as well ask "Do we really want Jeanette Krankie as PM?". It's about as likely.
Having said that, give me Prescott rather than Cameron any day. At least JP knows how to treat a bloke with a mullet!
I'd vote for anyone who got tough on people who won't / can't use capital letters. Hint - try the shift key.

It'l be joe public who decide in the end, if he ever gets to be no 1. at the labour exchange. Now your are worried int ya!!
I'd like to hear his speech though on matters of a green nature. Me thinks his fleet of gas guzzlurs will have to go.
I think brown is well odds on to win, and the bookies arent wrong very often.
