'In proportion to--' For example a recipe might say use 1 egg and 2 cups of flour for 2 portions or pro rata. So if you have to make 6 portions you would multiply everything by 3 (6/2) and use 3 eggs and 6 cups of flour.

6/12 = 0.5 * 24-= 12 days
