Talk to the neighbor and explain that the light keeps you awake. If that doesn't work, they make room-darkening blinds, shades and curtains. Hopefully your neighbor is nice...good luck!

I can't sleep either.
My neighbor likes to take his trash out at odd hours of the day, including 3am. His side door where his trash can is is right next to my window. I have flood lights on my house, but I have them pointed so they're not in anyone's windows. I asked my neighbors to let me know if they were a problem. Maybe you can just talk with your neighbor about it. Maybe he can put the lighting on a motion sensor. Hint: if the light does not already have a motion sensor setting, you can get a kit from Home Depot/Lowes that can make it a motion sensor. Maybe your neighbor doesn't realize what he's doing. Nonetheless, he should be told.
I have bipolar disorder and am currently in a manic episode. My point is, I can't sleep, and my neighbor not making it any easier to TRY to fall asleep. I feel your pain.

I live in Alaska where it doesn't get dark in the summer so I know what it's like to have a hard time sleeping because of the light. Try getting black-out curtians. They aren't very stylish so if that's a problem, you could put them behind your designer curtians. If you can't find the curtians, Jo-ann's Fabrics sells the black-out fabric. Metal mini-blinds work nicely as well. Hope this helps and you are able to get some sleep soon. :-)

Option 1: Talk to your neighbor about it.
Option 2: Get venetion blinds and drapes.
Option 3: Get the most powerful spotlight you can find and aim it in the neighbor's window.
Best if options are exercised in the order given.

Yes... i dont really know how to say it but like flattene a box like from a tv or something and hang it on ur window with a stick, so it cover up the light, and for ur ears use those plugs thingys that r often use in plane flights.

I suggest you get a b.b. gun and I suggest you practice. I do not suggest you shoot out the light. Nor would I shoot something of my own to make it look good. Do not wait till the neighbors are away, that would be sneaky. Nope, I would NEVER suggest you do something like that.

Talk to your neighbor. If he does not apologize then do something about it, then sue for damages. Will your neighbor pay for more than $10,000 for attorney's fees and damages all for one nasty bulb he won't turn off? Tell your lawyer that the light of that neighbor is to be considered "invasive" to your personal peace and quiet.

My dad works nights, which means he has to sleep during the day. Since daytime is bright, it makes it hard to sleep, so we put up some very dark curtains, and just pull them back during the day. If you can't convince your neighbour to turn off those silly lights, I suppose this is what you'll have to do! Sweet dreams

Pick up some lined curtains for that room. The lighting may actually benefit you as far as security goes.
