I recently found a large spider with a bulbous abdomen 2-3 centimeters in diameter. It is dark brown with a single white line running vertically down it's back, and two white specks/dots on each side of the line. These are it's only markings. The underside of it's belly is of a lighter brown, but I cannot see any patterns or markings worth noting. It's legs are striped in a dark brown and tan pattern. I was able to count six eyes total. Two on top, four on the bottom. Could it be a Brown Widow or something else?

You know...it all depends on what part of the country you're in. But if it has fangs, I wouldn't make a pet out of it! Take it too a zoo...somebody there will know what kind it is. Or just step on it! (not recommended)

No it not a brown widow, but you can check it out by looking under zoology!

Um... I know this doesn't totally match your description, but is this it? It's a brown recluse and it is has a VERY nasty bite so I wouldn't touch it if i were you. If it doesn't match your description then I still wouldn't reccomend touching it either...

dont know but sounds gross to me, be careful

white on the back sounds a bit like a white tail, but you didnt say where you are and it also sounds like its a decent size of a spider.
white tails give very nasty bites
