I have some home remedies which I used since I was in primary school. Once every two weeks to a month, use whole piece of bean curb, two egg white and blended it with 2 cup of fresh milk till it is thicken and separate into two bowls.

Put in the fridge for it to settle down for about 5 to 10 minutes. Remove any hand accessories, wash your hands clean then place your only the tip of your nails inside the bowls for about 10 to 15 mintues then take it out.

After that remove and wash it with water. This can thicken your nails and prevent it from being yellow too often.

But if you have the type of nails that you always switch nail polish colors and brands, I advise you to stick to one brand because different brands contian different chemicals that might cause each individuals person's nails but depend it may vary.

If possible like me, try to make it to the point of once every week, soak your hand nails in a very warm water for 10 minutes and after that gently brush your nails with a toothbrush. This can clearly soften your nail cuticles and as well as remove the unwanted dirt at the side of your nails clean.

For healthier-looking cuticles, while in the shower and conditioning your hair, rub the conditioner into your cuticles well and push them back. When filing your nails, file in one direction rather than in a back-and-forth motion as this can make your nails peel. A good long-term solution for healthy nails, hair and skin is to take is Biotin, which is a part of the B-vitamin family. In a couple of months, you'll notice a difference.

I have the same problem, unfortunaltlly i havn't found anything to help with my cuticles. As far as wanting stronger longer nails I just use a clear polish made for strengthing nails. Sally Hanson Hard As Nails works well. I've also heard that theres something in prenatal vitamins that helps with healthier nails and hair. Never tried it though.

A healthy diet will help your nails grow strong, as will keeping them away from harsh cleaners and chemicals.

Try massaging oil into your nails and cuticles, as well as eating gelatin. Both will strengthen your nails.

A safe, cheap, easy way to good looking nails and hands is to slather them with Vaseline, then put on a pair of footies or short socks over your hands and sleep that way.

A home remedy for brittle nails is using some Olive oil with lemon juice to soften and nourish your cuticles.
In a rush, use a dab of Vaseline on your nails.
Regularly massage your hands with a Heavy cream or moisturiser and try to avoid work involving Heavy Detergents or chemicals or use gloves while working.

Eat gelatin {like jello} they sell the plain stuff with directions for nail care on or in the package under the name Knox Gelatin. I also always keep them polished even when they break short because it helps them remain stronger against breakage while they grow. Even if you only use clear polish it will help, just use 2 coats.

Nail hardener will toughen them up and make them stronger so they don't break. Also, drink lots of milk. It makes them nice and white.

Nails get rusty if you drop them in water. Be Careful and get a tetanus shot if you poke yourself with one.
