its sadies (big couple dance), he dosne't like me (I like him), and he likes my friend (who is going w/someone else). if i do ask him, and he has a good time, i'm hoping he will like me. am i hoping for too much?

go ahead and ask him, if he gets weird explain it as " i need a date and you are really fun to hang with" but dont say "just as friends" then he might go and dance with all the other girls, etc.
but dont give ur hopes up too much... you dont wanna get hurt.

Dancing with someone is a good way for them to fall hopelessly for you. Are you absolutely sure he 'doesn't like you'? If he just SEEMS like he's indifferent, maybe he does feel a slight inclination, but if he likes your friend, then why not just give him a fair trial and wait on it?

when you consider that your families are pals it is going to be a lot less demanding to have her mothers and fathers settle for you. only ask her to the dance. tell her you may rather love for her to circulate with you to the dance.
