It depends on the 14 year old. My 14 year old brother has it. He's okay with it, because he knows its not reality. You need to decide how mature the child is. How good is his moral backing, how he is affected media?

stripping the vids is a big step indeed, but it will get in his way more than keep him clean. coz he'll need to hear what to do in the mission, and the character already curses and swears when he crashes into things with cars. GTA is not a game for a 14 yrs old. the chracter swears, robbs, kills, hijacks, and goes out on dates. nuff said.
if he wants something that features free-roam like gta so badly. then get him any of these PS2 games:
HULK:ultimate destruction
Ultimate Spiderman
spiderman 2
superman returns: the video game (out in stores at the end of this month.)
i suggest HULK and superman

It relies upon on how mature the baby is. If the baby is mature adequate to be attentive to that that's only a activity, after which you nevertheless forbid the baby to play that activity, he will take it as a private offense and might reason him to riot. The question is, what related to the violence makes you think of a 14 12 months previous shouldn't play it? If that is when you consider which you think of the violence will scare or is only too picture for the baby, then possibly you may desire to not divulge him to it. although, hazard is he has already been uncovered to worse on television or in the flicks. If that is when you consider which you're afraid the baby might re-create the acts of violence and heavily distort his concept of actuality, then you definately might desire to definately not enable him play. yet i might say you will not might desire to hassle approximately that except the baby is psychologically risky. My own opinion is that if the baby is established and psychologically solid, it is going to not rely what style of video games he performs or what video clips he sees. The question will become, how nicely do you be attentive to the baby?

Even without the cutscenes, it's still equivalent to a rated R movie. Given that, use your best judgment based on your 14 yr old's moral values and up-bringing.

If I were you I would'nt let him play it. In my opinion the game is great but not suited for a 14 year old.

I have played the game. I let my 16 year old play the game. My 4 year sits and watches both of us play the game. If there is bad language or inappropriate scenes....stop your kid from watching the news. Stop him from hanging around his friends. Stop him from watching movies. I bet he sees worse on any TV show. I bet your kid even swears with his friends. DUH think back to when you were that age. You cannot tell me you were a angel growing up.

Sure. It isn't going to be the first time he witnesses someone banging a hooker in an alley only to beat her to death and take the money back before un-loading an Ak-47 in the chest of peace officer.

It's not very realistic, but you can kill people with chainsaws and other pretty gnarly weapons. I played those games when I was younger and they really don't affect you do the lack of realism. (It's not like watching Hostel).
