Put dessicants like Silica Gels inside your violin. It may help keep out the moisture...Also put some inside your violin case.

Desiccation refers to the state of extreme dryness, or the process of extreme drying. A desiccant is a substance that absorbs or adsorbs water. It is most commonly used to remove humidity that would normally degrade or even destroy products sensitive to moisture. Silica gel, calcium sulfate, montmorillonite clay, and molecular sieves are commonly used as desiccants.

Hope it helps!

I don't know if you've thought of storing your violin in a closet where you have a container of dehumidifiying gel - you can get that at the hardware store. You can also try storing your violin in a room where you keep a dehumidifier. They are kind of expensive but you don't need anything really drastic - the dehumidifying gel in the closet where you store it - when humid out - would probably make a difference. Just be careful not to dry out the wood too much that your violin is made of. As long as you baby it with mineral oil rubs - that shouldn't be an issue.

I used to play flute when I was younger. 1st chair in A band for two years running. I loved to play back then, and wish I would of stuck with it. If not, just to be able to play for myself now.
Keep your music close with you... The gift of music is very special and I hope you play for many years.
Good luck ! ! !
