I hope your not joking...but anyway,how do you know your facing east...sun comes up in the east and rests in the west.If you are serious and your looking east put your right arm out straight then put your left arm at a 45 degree angle and now you have found north but what are ya goin' to do with it?

Your left arm, extend it out and point. That is the magnetic north that we all know as north. Are you however, very sure that you are facing east?. Get a GPS.

Turn 90 degrees to the left. Then you will be facing due North. Turn 90 degrees to the right. Then you will be facing due South. Make an about face and you will be facing due West.
