Liquid Benedryl works faster than the pill form, so try that. Also, a fan is good as "white noise," which will help you get to sleep better than a radio. I find that if I have the radio on, I'm listening to the music (and perhaps singing) rather than trying to fall asleep. Experts also say that if you've tried to fall asleep for 30 minutes and nothing has happened, get up and out of bed for a while and do something quiet, like read a (calm, relaxing) book (no horror stories). Then try to sleep again. The point is to not concentrate so hard on going to sleep that you undermine yourself and can't sleep at all. These tricks should work for tonight. In the future, use your bed for sleeping (and sex) only. This tricks your brain to think you're only there to sleep, not watch TV or read, etc. It will better ready your brain for sleep if you get into a routine.

Real relaxing music playing softly helps, light classics without any chance of grand crescendos or drum blasts is good. Space music can work too. Then lie on your back, close your eyes, and do deep controlled yogic breathing. Do a yogic relaxation too, relax every big joint and muscle from your toes to your scalp, slowly. Repeat if necessary, but it probably won't be. Oh another thing, a real boring book can put you to sleep, I used to read Marx. Yawwwwwwwnnnnnn.

the best way that i have found is getting into a routine, then have a fountain noice or like a fan...sometimes if you really can't fall asleep try a sleep aid you can buy them at any store...but don't take them every night and they you might need to talk to your doctor...

Meditate before you going to bed. Recollect all that has happened on that day but do not feel happy or guilty for whatever has happened, just feel you have done your best. All the best and have a peaceful sleep.

Have a fully stimulated day. You'll fall asleep as soon as you flop into bed.

If you have a Bible (N.I.V.) start at the beginning -Genisis - and read.If you do not have a Bible get one. When you start to read God's Word you will fall asleep; Satan does not want you reading God's Word.
