No, I think that college football is taken WAY too seriously. College sports should be for student-athletes, with "student" being the priority. It has become a money-hungry industry that does little for the students who attend university to get an education. In many places "ordinary" students cannot even get tickets to games at their own institution because they are sold for exorbitant sums to outsiders. There are many fine academic institutions, but the only faculty members most people can name are the ridiculously overpaid football and basketball coaches, who are the most overrated individuals in this country. Players, many of whom cheapen the term "college student", are simultaneously exploited and spoiled by a system that has become a free farm system for professional sports and the foundation of a huge bookmaking industry that returns nothing good. Games between college teams are NOT that important.

No, absolutely not!!

The teams that lose all the time are the ones who actually adhere to the idea of the student-athlete, not the athlete-student. Ever hear University of Miami players speak?? Not the brightest bunch. Ohio State isn't much better.

If they would concentrate on banning the teams that recruit criminals/illiterate athletes, the teams that are currently "constant losers" would start winning.

It's not going to happen, but..........

no way! Some schools do not take football as serious as others.....besides, the really big football schools need teams like SDSU so they can pay them to play. This allows the bigger school to whip their asses and look really good in the process......This is nothing new to college football.
