This is a pretty good question. When you think of it like that it is pretty intrusive isn't it? Just tried to think of one thing....but came up empty. DANG....curse you for stumping me this late at night....I'll never get to sleep now! LOL

Certain things demand a law to it cause the majority of a society will deem it unnecessary, out of control, wrong, whatever if it didn't have one. Imagine if it was okay to rape women or have sex with 8 year olds....if there wasn't a law against rape or being a pedophile can you IMAGINE the crap we'd have to deal with? Then there's the lighter cases like weed or drugs. Because of it's history, so many people find it bad for your health and what not there's a law to it (and yet smokers get away with smoking, and yet the end results are the same...). Anarchy isn't pretty, for some reason people get stupid and decide to indulge more into destruction rather than enjoying life, freedom, or anything moral. But there are things that are untouched by law, like many of the examples above, course these are little petty things or stuff you just CAN'T put a law to...like breathing.

I think pretty much by our nature we can't live in a random state of absolute freedom. We'll eventually place regulations on ourselves maybe for the smallest things, but that's just the way we are.

Oh, and I liked the laissez-faire comment. I've heard it applies mainly to the economy. That the government leaves it alone and lets capitalism do its job. It's true presidents did practice this in a way, but one corporations started arising and recessions like the Great Depression, came about people didn't really care about the hands-off approach.

Laws are made to restrict unreasonable behavior, or to punish individuals who violate another person's, another group's rights.

Freedoms are NOT bestowed to the citizen by the government, but ONLY guaranteed by such government, either State or Federal.

Taxation is NOT a right nor a priviledge, but only the method by which a government takes in monies, for the funding of Social Programs. Rich, or poor, taxes have to be paid.

I don't think there needs to be a law stating we have absolute freedom to do this or that. I look at it this way: You're free to do whatever you wish, unless there's a law against it. And that's a lot of freedom.

You can be friends with whomever you wish, or you can ignore and dislike whomever you wish.

You can fart and belch and pick your nose in public, if you wish.

You can stay up all night watching bad TV, if you wish.

You can think whatever you want.

Etc.

We do have some things that we have absolute freedoms on! You can come and go as you please, You can go any where in the Country that you wish! You can purchase any vehicle or home that you wish! There are many such things. You have absolute freedom on what you eat or drink! The same with clothing! Evidently you have some thing else in mind! We have many blessings!

there was this theory called 'laissez-faire' it french for something like' let the people do as they wish' it was followed by a couple of presidents, but it was sort of discontiuned because it took "power" so to speak from thoses who thought they deserved it. there should be, but in all reality, its probaly not goin to happen. on paper, the govermnt is the people. to bad the world is 3-D right?

If there were no laws we would have anarchy. Surely there is no law against breathing.
