Actually if a black hole passed near by Earth an even worse fate would happen. It would suck the Earth into the black hole, essentially vaporizing the Earth into particles that would be smashed into all the other particles inside the black hole. The real mystery is what happens next. There are a couple of theories floating out in the science community. Steven Hawkins is the physicist that initially developed the idea. Well the nearest thought of the position of a black hole is in the centre of our galaxy, Milky Way. But if a Black hole (stationary one i.e. not spinning) passes near to the earth it would simply start swallowing down the earth and its particles inside it and transforming it into its most fundamental stage i.e. into quarks!!!
It would also mind if it would be about 100 solar mass then, it could even devour the whole solar system and become immensely massive.
If a spinning black hole comes nearby than it would be like transformation of things into quarks tremendously fast.
I personally suggest that there should be some kinda weapon which is 'anti- gravity ray gun' (very huge one , enough of the size of 50 football grounds)then we could perhaps save this kinda weirdo and disastrous ultimately fatal accident.
But this dreamy thought could be accomplished by humans only after about 100000 years!!!
Wait till then for our defense or just dream of our ultimate fate.

the Nearest known black hole is in the center of our Galaxy, the milky way.
When a celestial body, like our sun, or our planet, is nearing a black hole, some of the mass of the star starts flowing into the black hole, as the star and the black hole circle each other, this creates a trail of gas, usually hot, flowing to the black hole, which is invisible and rotating very rapidly. I suppose the gaseous material from a planet will flow first towards the black hole, but if the phenomenon continues, the star/planet as a whole "falls" into the black hole and disappears.

If a black hole shot by earth, it would probably severly affect Earth's orbit at least. If it actually hit the earth, it would carve out a nice tunnel through the earth and escape to the other side and be on its way. If one large enough passed by the earth, the earth might fall into orbit around it instead of the sun ,and we'd all freeze to death or be sucked into the black hole after freezing to death.

There is a HUGE black hole near Earth now, it is the center of The Milky Way Galaxy. Earth is in the Milky Way Galaxy.
As we understand destruction, the Earth will most defiantly be destroyed.
But just look at the avatar. and look busy.

It could swallow us up, if it came close enough. Also, time would be affected. It could slow down, we may not notice it but from another world, this would look as if time is standing still!
They are usually strong enough to gobble us and the solar system including the Sun. It would be like a trail leading in to the centre of the black hole, where nothing escapes even light..

Everything even the earth it self would be crused to an obect the size of a pea. Gravity would greratly increase. A Black hole is so strong it even sucks in light.

Yes on the first no on the second! we would have no gravity probaly cause it would suck it all in first of all we ain't gonna be a live to see if its true or not! the second question is no because black holes are so powerful they suck in light thats kinda scary let me know if you have any other wonders! peace! I LOVE PLANET EARTH if i could hug the earth i would if i could kill the government and tear down all builds and put the resources back into the earth i would ! INVENTIONS screw up the world!

I is impossible to have a black hole close to Earth because in order to have a black hole a really big star has to have a supernova and there are no stars big enough around earth to have that kind of supernova. Do not worry about it.

A black hollow in area is a vortex interior the textile of area the place severe gravity and disintegrated debris from remember and capability are compelled into. The regulations of physics do no longer fail there yet are greater severe or distinctive. in all probability the regulations of black holes could be referred to as the regulations of capability or particle acceleration.
