At 5 months no doctor will perform an abortion. It depends what state you live in. They used to give partial birth abortions, but that might have been made illegal to perform.
I would think more along the lines of adoption if not prepared to be a parent, Much too far along to even consider abortion.
I would suggest birth control next time.

Pregnancy is measured from the first day of the last normal menstrual period (not from conception) and is verified by ultrasound.
Medical abortion up to 8 weeks
(This is that abortion pill)
Surgical abortion 6-11 weeks, 6 days
Surgical abortion 12-12 weeks, 6 days
Surgical abortion 13-13 weeks, 6 days
Surgical abortion 14-14 weeks, 6 days
Surgical abortion 15-16 weeks, 3 days
I would say it is too late but this is from the state of tennesee, you could check to see if they do abortions any later than this in your homestate.
Good luck

Depends on the state/country laws. I think they do abortions up to about 24 weeks so, if she wants it done, get her to a clinic/hospital fast! There's little more devestating than hearing that it might be too late for an abortion you desperately need. The hospital that I went to stopped preforming abortions at 15 weeks. I was 14 weeks and 6 days pregnant and was told that I couldn't have an abortion because the surgery was scheduled a week later and by then I'd be too pregnant and I'd have to go out of town. (note I wanted it done sooner but, there were some issues with an evil and hateful pro-lie group trying to delay my appointment and stop me) Anyway, someone was watching down on me that day because I receieved a phone call as soon as I got home from the hospital and on the verge of suicide that I didn't need to kill myself and my surgery was considered emergancy and I was scheduled that afternoon.

It is illegal to have a mid or late term abortion, well in Australia is it, so it can only be done within the first 12 weeks unless there is something terminally wrong with the child, like it won't have much or a very long life anyway.
I'm against abortion anyway but i think mid and late term abortions are the worst, the baby can feel pain by that age, it's so wrong.

by potential of the top of the 0.33 month all arteries are latest, inclusive of the coronary vessels of the heart. Blood is circulating by using those vessels to all physique factors. the pulse stages in this fetal era from one hundred ten to a hundred and sixty beats in line with minute. All blood cells are produced by potential of the liver and spleen, a job quickly taken over by potential of the bone marrow. White blood cells, significant for immunity, are shaped interior the lymph nodes and thymus. Vocal chords are finished, and the little one can and does on occasion cry (silently). The ideas is completely shaped, and the little one can sense discomfort. The fetus may even suck his thumb. The eyelids now hide the eyes, and could stay close till the seventh month to guard the mushy optical nerve fibers. tell her all of that and convince her to no longer get one. That little one is obviously a human at 12 weeks (3 months). the little one would be waiting to sense the discomfort as its being aborted. 3 months is a few distance to previous through get one (and im thoroughly against it).

Most places will do it up through 16 weeks. After that, it's very hard to find a physician who will do it, even if you have serious medical problems. At 5 months, it IS possible, but it'll cost a helluva lot of money and you'll probably have to go to 3 states or more to find a doc who will do it. After 6 months you can't have an abortion in the USA thanks to a horrid ban on it we have here.

You need to call the abortion clinic and find that on out. I believe it's a little late to be doing that. Most women get it done in the first three months. Maybe she should consider adoption.

I think partial birth abortion was outlawed, so she may be past her time limit on being able to have one.
There are some things that she needs to remember:
1. Baby's at 5 months feel fear and pain (this has been proven)
2. There are plenty of people willing to adopt and love a baby
If she's serious about terminating the pregnancy, Google "The Silent Scream," a web site that accompanies a video on abortion at about 11 weeks. The video is also accessible on that site. She can look through the pictures, watch the abortion, and make up her mind for herself what she wants to do.
The important thing to remember is that she can't undo it. The hormones will still be there. The breasts will still be engorged. Her tummy will no longer be flat. And she'll have to deal with post-partum just like any other woman who has ever given a natural birth. It's not an "easy out" card. Abortion can also be very painful.

On abortion I believe it is okay to do it when you've been raped and you get pregnant and I believe it is okay to have an abortion. I think it is before 12 weeks.
