I find the latest country music to be mind numbing. I live in the south and I hear that **** music every day. I can tolerate classic country, but the new country music is all about music videos. If you look good on t.v. it doesn't matter if you can't sing. Download some older songs by Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Conway Twitty, Ronnie Milsap, Patsy Cline, Reba Mcintyre, Merle Haggard, Loretta Lynn to name a few.

I personally recommend ANYTHING by George Strait. Other good ones are Gretchen Wilson, Big & Rich, Dierks Bentley, Rascal Flatts, Toby Keith, and Montgomery Gentry

.......................
Garth Brooks!
.......................
American country music singer-songwriter and charity director.

Brooks was a phenomenal musical force in the 1990s. He had his chart breakthrough in 1989, having come apparently from nowhere, and was an immediate commercial success. Lacking the tall and lanky physical appearance typical of some male country stars, he successfully integrated pop and rock elements into his recordings and live performances. He soon began to dominate the country singles and country albums charts and quickly crossed over into the mainstream pop arena, selling records like no one else in country music ever had and exposing country music to a larger audience than previously thought possible.

Brooks enjoyed one of the most successful careers in popular music history, with over 70 hit singles and 15 charted albums to his credit and over 115 million albums sold in the US alone, breaking records for both sales and concert attendance throughout the 1990s. Possibly dissatisfied and looking to expand his career boundaries, he then attempted (and left uncompleted) a multimedia project involving a fictitious alter ego.

Troubled by the conflicts between career and family, the year after the decade ended, Garth Brooks announced his retirement from recording and performing, thereby disappearing from the music world as suddenly as he had come. To his many fans the world over, he is a legend.

I get tears in my eyes when I here Patsy Cline sing Crazy.

If the Orange Blossom Special don't get your juices flowing I don't know what would. Lots have recorded it. Try one by Johnny Cash.
Listen to any of Johnny Cash's songs.

Willy Nelson is great. Dolly Pardon is and endless joy a really talented person.

Garth Brooks is the all time greatest. All his albums are brilliant.
Johnny Cash, if you like the older country stuff, and Slim Dusty is good too.

He's fairly new, but Steve Forde and the Flange are quite good. I reckon it won't be long till he's as big as Lee Kernaghan, another good 'un. Also Adam Harvey, Adam Brand, Toby Keith are good.

I love country and everything else. Kenny Chesney and Keith Anderson are two of my favorites but I can always listen anything country. Go to CMT.com and search for artists and new music.

You can't go wrong with Willie, Waylon and the boys (a blurb from 'Lukenbach, TX' by Waylon Jennings). But Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Jr., are some of my favs. I like the older country more so than the newer stuff. Look into "Pancho and Lefty" by Willie Nelson and "Seven Spanish Angels" they are CLASSICS!!!
