How can this happen, and how can I stop it?

I'm 6' 2" and weigh 210 pounds. I've never smoked. Could hydration be a part of the problem? It gets very dry in my place.

did you gain weight? if so lose it, thats one of the biggest causes. get those nasal strips you put on the outside of your nose, take sinus pills if your nose feels stuffy, dont sleep on your back.

Snoring is not a joke, and it's not just a nuisance.

Snoring is often a symptom of a serious disorder called sleep apnea. This can damage your heart and even kill you. You need to go to a sleep clinic without delay - ask your doctor to refer you.

In most cases apnea can be 100% eliminated by the use of a night breathing machine called a CPAP. It might take a night or two to get used to it, but then you will not only not snore AT ALL anymore, you will feel much better during the day, too.

Please do not delay in seeing a sleep specialist - it's very important! Contrary to what many people believe, you do NOT have to be overweight to have sleep apnea.

What is your weight? You may have sleep apnea. See you priomary for a referral to an ENT doctor. You may need a sleep study (then you will see a pulmonologist). If it is because of sleep apnea, you may have to have a PPP (recon of your palate). There may be another reason, like polyps and you will still need to see an ENT. Good Luck.
