do they charge the phone to your bill or do you have to pay online with a credit card? i know the activation fee goes on the bill. but what about the phone?

I used to work for SBC, (now att) which is/was the parent company of Cingular. Most things go straight to the bill, unless you are in a store and can pay separate, and even then-they may just post that payment to the bill directly.

Last time I upgraded, they charged it to my bill and split it over 3 months. I think they still do it that way. It doesn't hurt to ask. :)

it's all on the bill. no online thingee necessary, unless you want to do it that way. i'm sure they have online bill pay. but anyhow, the service and the phone are all one bill and it's a paper bill.
