I've been using Arbonne's chapstick and am very happy with it. I've tried a lot of brands, but had to constantly reapply as my lips would seem dry almost immediately after applying. I no longer have that problem.
Lip Saver, SPF 30- Say good-bye to sun-chapped lips and hello to maximum preventative care with Lip Saver, SPF 30. It's blended with targeted antioxidant ingredients that refresh, rejuvenate and soothe as it protects and benefits all skin types.

What type of Carmex are you using: Is it the little pot? If so, the reason it doesn't work on your chapped lips is because it was made for Cold Sores which need to be dried out. Honestly, despite all the raves about Carmex, I hate it. I usually use Blistex Spa Effects in Relaxing (smells like Vanilla and Plum!) because it's made with shea butter which is good for your lips. You can also make your own lip balm with moisturizing butters such as shea butter, mango butter and cocoa butter.
But I really do recommend the Blistex Spa Effects. Also, Sweet Almond Oil or Apricot Kernal Oil is good and moisturizing. Just dab some on with a cotton ball or Q-tip. Don't use either if you are allergic to nuts!
For the record, some hand creams and lotions are bad for your lips because of dyes, fragrances and the like. So if you do that, make sure you use one that is dye and fragrance free.

Carmex is a great product but it is suppose tpo be used temporarily If you have been putting it on for years your lips may have stopped producing the natural moisture that they need The only way to remedy this is to stop using the product your lips will seem chapped for a while but eventually they will return to normal use a gloss while your kickin the hard stuff

First, buff away the dry skin on your lips with a tothbrush or you can buy this lip buffer from bath & body works. It really works well.
http://www.bathandbodyworks.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2109803&cp=2073258.2079003.2128726&view=all&view=all&parentPage=family
then use Blistex Spa Effects or Rosebud Salve (at Bath & Body Works or Sephora). I like those alot. At nite, use Vaseline Petroleum Jelly on your lips using a qtip or a lip brush. It really works for any part of your body too. You can just buy the smallest jar. It goes a long way.

Use Biotherm lip moisturize. If you want something cheap and works good then try the Coco butter lip moisturize. Best result is use it before bedtime (put a thick layer on your lips and leave it for over night) and day time use it before you put lip stick on. It works! Trust me. Your dry lips will go away very soon.

First, exfoiliate(remove) dry skin on lips by rubbing gently with a wash cloth or baby toothbrush. Next, apply an inexpensive eye cream to the skin on your lips, and apply a balm that has a moisturizer in it. Try not to lick your lips, that further dries them out. Good luck!

I use Vaseline Lip Therapy. It says Advanced Formula on the outside but its just plain old Vaseline in a tube so you can throw it in your purse or pocket. My skin is real sensitive and this is the only thing that works for me. Other chapsticks make my lips worse from the sun screen and dyes in them, to the point that they themselves will make my lips peel. You can buy it at Wal-Mart or probably just about anywhere. I get it for $.93 in my area. Good Luck!!!

Blistex Silk & Shine. Its all moisturizers, better than Chapstick.
Silk & Shine has no harsh chemicals like menthol in it.
I am glad I found it and bought it.
If you are on the budget, Vaseline is a good help.

Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm. Put it on at night before you go to sleep for double the effect.
