Boom/Bang are purely semantics. They have evidence of this original "bang" by examining background radio waves.

They are not exactly sure if that's how it happened.
Evidence proved that the "things" in the universe were moving away from each other so they thought that it must be happening that way because it originated in a "big bang"......so it's more of a hypothesis but there is evidence that it might be true.

Well, since we speculate the the expansion is in a extremely smart duration. That means it is very fast when it happen. The boom sounds slow and lower pitch. so it makes sense to go with a high pitch word. Bang!!
Thank you!!!

Well there's the Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation, that is said to be the big bang's "afterglow." If that's not evidence enough, the universe is expanding. Run the clock backwards, and what happens?

Recent scientific studies show that it was neither a bang or a boom but more of a kablam.

The name "big bang" is just that - a name.... it has very little to do with the actual event or how it occured.
Why am I answering such an asinine question....

Newtonian Mechanics has conventional wisdom. No one was around
but that did not prevent it from happening. It did not required an acoustic proof.
