People who hate Slipknot generally don't even listen to them, If they do, they listen to 1 song and dismiss them as "too heavy" or "too intense"- isn't that what we look for in music? something intense? Anyway they are fabulous musicians, they have one of the best drummers on the planet, & I would kill for corey's voice. Critics like Slipknot&StoneSour, I think it's safe to dismiss the haters as generally shallow, and without musical perception.

1 good thing about Slipknot is the drummer.Now Stone Sour,they are damn good,it shows Corey can actually sing and does a damn good job at it.I think the new Stone Sour is one of the better discs out recently.But Slipknot is just a mess of noise with no rhythm,its all about a live show and live they even sucked.They toured with Shadows Fall & 90% of the people left after SF(includeing myself).I dont see any future in Slipknot,Corey got wise with Stone Sour and the disc is selling like crazy as well as SS joining the MAAW tour opening for Disturbed.The silly clowns are done

Its really based on opinion. You may not be into Slipknot but you have to respect that they are very gifted. Dont say they suck...cause they really dont. Joey the drummer is amazing! And Cory sings very well...but we know him for his screaming (in Slipknot atleast).

Because they're obnoxious and overrated. And I'm from Des Moines, so I've had to deal with hearing about them from the beginning.
EDIT: And the person below me who said those people who don't like them probably think they're too heavy and never listened to them, I used to be into metal and actually own a couple Slipknot CDs, so for me that's not the reason.

nice question dude..I LOVE SLIPKNOT..but all my classmates hate them i guess its cause they r a 9 piece band.my classmates say that their music is ok but shud be better cause they r 9 guys..but i love them they got these wierd riffs going on at the back (like in one song u can hear a bell ..i tot my fone was ringing)dat only ppl wit a good ear 4 music can hear...their different dats y they rock

Hey I know them, they are from Des Moines, Iowa. I live an hour from there and they came to a wicked party here about 3 years ago. Cool guys!

They are so bizarre and the masks are gory and disgusting. There guitars are tuned down way to low and why the heck do they have a drummer and a percussionist. There not all that great.
