I was 21 when i had my son. He was a planned and it took me a year to get pregnant with him. I am now 27 years old and i am thinking about having another baby.
I do not think that 27-28 years old is not too old to have kids. There is nothing wrong in having a baby at this age. My mom had my little brother at age 38.
Being 27 in all your more mature than say an 18/19 year old. I would get pregnant if i were you but only if you are ready.
Good luck

I don't think so. I had an unplanned child at 17. Long, dysfunctional family story I won't bore you with, but it was 15 years before I had another baby.
That was very much like having my first child at 32. I've had 3 children. My youngest I had when I was 35. Because of health issues, I personally wouldn't go past that age. But people are having their first children much later in life than they used to.
having kids later helps keep you young. I'm 40 and chasing a 5 and an 8 yo old around. We homeschool, so I spend A LOT of time with them.
It was the right time for our family. Only you will know when that right time is for you.

Not at all. I think anything younger than about 25 is a bit too young, really. As for too old, I would draw the line at 40 or so. That's when you'd be considered a high-risk pregnancy and your child is more likely to be born with Down Syndrome or some other disability.

Not at all I was 24 when I had my daughter. Most people are waiting until they are much older these days. It is never to late to start a family if you really want one. We are talking about having another child if we do I will most likely be 27-28 if we do. I hope this helps

I have to disagree with the people that are saying that "you're never to old to start a family" OH YES!!!
40 and over is too old! I understand people want to continue their education and start their careers but come on. How many 50 yr old can keep up with a 10 yr old, especially if the kid is out of control. 50 isn't old but too old to have a 10 yr old.
I had my son when I was 21. I would do it again and again and again. He's 7 now and a handful!! I couldn't imagining being 47 with him. No way! I'd need help. I want my next and last child b4 i turn 30 in two years.
To answer your question 27-28 is not too old to have your first kid! Just don't wait too long for the second if you want a second one.
Good Luck!

Hi, u r just at the right age to thnk of a 1st child. I'm around the same age as you, and am ttc. The way me&my husband look at it is that: -
we should be able to bring him/ her up without irritations in our nature, which come with age
our energy levels will stoop with age, and we dnt want this to effect the child's care
parents today are wise, as they choose to complete their education first&become stable and settled in their life, before planning a family
our child should be able to be an active member of the labour force by the time we are out of it
I'm sure u've considered many things before waiting for this time to plan for a child. And, like the others say, as far as u r ready for the kid, it'll be the best experience u've ever had..All the best..

27-28 years is not too old I think you could keep trying till you are at least 35, of course it's still viable for conception after this age but it does start getting harder I'd say from 35yrs and older. I was 30 something when I stopped trying. I never got my children though, but I had a few things against me. Now I'm in my early 40's and post menopausal. I wish you every bit of luck for a child.

That's not too old at all. The average age of having the first child goes up with education. I have a Master's degree and will be right on track if I have my first child around age 34. (Although I hope it's sooner!) For people with Bachelor's degrees, the average age is around 30. No college, around 23.

No, 27-28 is definitely not too old to have babies. The dangers come for people pregnant that are 35+.

No 27 or 28 is not too old. I got pregnant for the first time when I was 36 and I had twins (thanks to fertility treatments).
But, the older you get the less fertile you become. I think you are at a perfect age to be having a baby. Not too young and not in the high risk age group! Good Luck!
