i am looking for a mp3 player that has 8gb and the batteries can be removed and uses AA or AAA batteries

very few with a hard drive that big will use aa or aaa battries but there are some that have removeable rechargeable battries but not aa or aaa

Not much of those mp3's that run on AA or AAA batteries work well. The best one out there would probably be Sandisk Sansa m200 series. They run on one AAA battery, and they don't die out quick like others. They are affordable and easy to use. I HAVEN'T encountered any problems with the one I had (I had a it for a veryyy long time. ha! but i finally got rid of it because i needed more space. ):). I would go for that, it'll definitely make a decent gift. Did I mention it had a FM Radio and Voice Recording features? o:
