All my life I've been in the aviation industry. From drawing my 1st plane at 5 yrs old to loading bags, fueling, aero. engineer, air traffic control, private pilot, & prep for a career in airport mgmt., I obtained a Master of Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aero. U. (911 ended that). In between I worked 4 years in private & commercial security as a security officer & supvr. Since August of 2002, I've managed a 4 unit rental unit w/all of its adventures; dealing w/bad tenants, collecting rents, advertizing, paying insurance & taxes and maintenance, etc. while teaching professionally - basic aviation courses - for a small, local university in Miami, FL until the Aviation Magnet Program was canceled by Miami-Dade County due to political reasons. From '76-'81 I was also a US military leader.

I"m 49 now & want a career where I can use my education, knowledge, human psychology, expert computer, managerial & leadership skills, etc., for the best profit.

Any career suggestions?

www.usajobs.gov is the federal website.

Being a veteran will give you a preference. Plus there is a big push on right now to hire more vets in the federal gov't.

You're at an age where good health care is important, no layoffs and a diverse background to contribute.

Don't rule out any specific areas, first use the Search jobs link and see what is available right now in the area you live in. Don't set your goals too high. It's possible to start as a GS-9 and move up 4 or 5 pay grades in the same amount of time.
Good luck...

Build something that is yours. Your own business. But how is that done without the millions of dollares that it takes?

It take a business that can be started for alittle down, a low franchise fee and support from others that are working in the same field as you. The skills that are needed are learned as you work their system. If you havent guessed, I'm talking about network marketing. I enrolled in 4Life research 2 and a half years ago and I really enjoy it. Check it out.

You aren't likely to get good sound advice around here.

What I would do is get out the employment ads & check them over to see what may work for you.

If you have a nest egg that you don't mind risking some of you can check out the buisnesses for sale. Its like buying your self a job.

Seems like you have aimlessly messed around. It seems you have probably left it rather late to seek a good career now.

Suggest you do a little thinking and settle for a steady job with a pension.

Sell your house, buy a couple of small planes and start your own flying school and air charter service.
