Interesting question. I think when you define your life by your mistakes, which sooo many of us do...it leads to anxiety and depression. Yet it is natural to make mistakes - part of being human.
If we could all define our lives by our accomplishments, even the tiny ones like smiling at someone or a kindness, then we would have a much more positive self concept and be a lot more content.
You see I believe that mistakes a person has made is not the sum of the person.

A person is defined by there actions. Both accomplishments and mistakes are actions, but then the actions we take after the mistakes, thats more important than the actual mistake. Everyone has a choice to perceive mistakes as either a stumbling block or a stepping stone. Choose to see every mistake as an opportunity to learn a new approach to it, and you will always be successful.
Good Luck

My life is defined more by the balance of accomplishments and mistakes, than by one specifically.
As for whether your birth was worth the trouble, that is a question to be answered by your mother.
Just to encourage you - people who make more mistakes than accomplishments are those with the most wisdom ( assuming they don't keep repeating the mistakes). You probably have an inner strength from your experiences that some very accomplished people don't have because everything has been too easy for them. Be proud of yourself and keep on truckin!!

My life is defined by both.
* I make mistakes so i can learn from them and when i make accomplishments i know that is a job well done.
If a person never makes mistakes and never learns from them how can we become better ppl in the future? Also accomplishments are great for self esteem and helping to cope with daily stresses.
I see the bad things as a blessing (most of the time) and life is a miracle and always will be.

In Christian terms your life is judged according to the sins you have committed, not the good deeds you have accomplished. A mistake though is not the same thing as a sin..so should you define yourself by it.? Mistakes are something we all make, but we learn to forgive ourselves and move on..and in doing so we have accomplished something. A life full of mistakes therefore can be defined as equally as important as one perceived to be full of accomplishments. This is exactly what makes it all worth it.

Both or neither !
Because what you call as mistake or an accomplishment is just by comparison.
Whereas, life is much more than that... A person could have experienced intense life , just watching the glory of the vast creation, and merged with it, dissolving the self, the perception deepening far beyond just the sense organs, to just say, at the most to oneself, "Yes ! Now I know !"

Great question. My answer is because of my mistakes. I have tried to correct them and have made many accomplishments. That defines quality.

If you never make mistakes, it means you aren't doing anything. Mistakes are a product of life and, if you pay attention to the outcomes and alternatives of those mistakes, they help us to grow and learn and accomplish.
