most people are all talk, voting requires that you take a second of your precious time and go to the polling place and actually vote. oh wait, you can get a ballot by mail in most areas now. hmmm that excuse is gone.
maybe a tax incentive for voting in an election of say $50 or maybe $100 off your taxes. that would be awesome. It would help the middle class and the poor more than the rich, it would increase voter turnout, it would make the politicians responsible to the people not the special interest groups. because if more people voted, they couldn't just bully their way into office.
but i believe the major reason is ignorance of the privilege of voting, how many men and women stand to protect your choice to just throw away your right to vote.
i vote, i will stand for your right not to vote.
here is something to think about, if you don't vote, you surrender your portion of the collective voice to those that do vote.

If you don't vote, you can't complain. I asked a VERY similar question just the other day, in fact you can find it the history of my questions, and I got either 11 or 12 thumbs down because of it. They want to complain without the hassle of getting out of their house and actually doing something to change things. They have no voice, and I'm not interested in hearing what they have to say

Not really, its not a crime not to vote, and you can't take away their voice it's called freedom of speech. This is still a free country right?

I'd guess that most people on this forum vote in American elections so long as they are 18 and are US citizen.

Possibly because nobody worth voting for ran. I refuse to vote for the person I hate the least, I vote for the person that I think is actually good for the job.
The only way to waste your vote is to vote.
