I mean, come on... it is one thing to be able to tolerate homosexuality, but for gays to try and force onto people this idea that homosexuality is not immoral is crazy. I am, of course assuming that God exists here. But it is made clear in every main religion that God forbids homosexuality, so I am disgusted every time I hear about gays complaining that their lifestyle is not wrong, but just "different", They have no right to tell God what to do. Why do they consistently try to undermine him? Maybe because they know they are wrong and are looking for a scapegoat... someone to blame?

everyone is casting me as a bigot for asking a completely legitimate, open-minded, in-the-spirit-of-discussion type question... who are the real bigots?

Every one here is assuming that I am Christian or Jewish-- big, and incorrect, assumption to make. Also, the overwhelmingly negative response to my question only serves to prove my point.

ok, my bit here I'm an exgay have been for 18 years. I will struggle with homosexuality until the day I die I accept. I believe Jesus died for my sins and I live a celibate life. I also don't go to church because I don't feel welcome because of people like you. I agree with you that homosexuality is a sin, I choose not to engage in this sin everday. Would you have a strong enough faith to live alone and celibate for the rest of your life?

NO you are wrong about every MAIN religion. Every main Religion that is Eurocentric has deemed homosexuality wrong. Africans, Indians, Native Americans and such all accept homosexuality in religion, Homoosexuals are actually revered as being in touch with both their feminine and masculine side, they were shamans and medicine people, healers, and advisors. And as far as the bible Only b4 Christ earthly ministries and after his death was homosexuality even discussed. While Jesus was on earth he never had anything bad to say about it.
The issues you need to deal with is how come people try to force homosexuals into believing they are Immoral? You have no right to tell God what he thinks of HIS CREATIONS! WHO are YOU!? God makes no mistakes and made ALL man in his image. His perfect Image! WHO are you to question that? God spoke to the people a few times and even sent his son. None of the times mentioning homosexuality. Coinsidently it was only when Man started getting "inspired" by God did they start writing this mess. What are you so afraid of? That theri is no scapegoat? That people like yourselves will be proven wrong on the day of judgment?

Your question may not have been intended to be bigoted, however it comes across that way. It is certainly prejudice.

You assume incorrectly that we actually care about your opinion.

The American Homosexual community isn't interested in changing your views on immoral activity. You may, in fact, go to your grave and your very small, empty heaven believing exactly as you do about immorality. It doesn't matter.

What the gay community is slowly changing is the common belief that it is ok to discriminate based on sexual orientation.

There is a very good possibility that on the issue of christian morality, you are correct. I am more than willing to admit that the bible is fairly clear in a couple of scriptures, that homosexual activity was prohibited.

The problem is... there are many activities that the same bible describes as equally abomnible. Our society doesn't discriminate and reduce equal rights based on any of those, so I have to think that it is wrong to pick just this one to make that leap.

I believe in our system of government. I love, honor, and cherish the simple truths contained in our country's founding documents. I believe in equality and justice for all. When divorced people are not banned from getting remarried... when child abusers are not allowed to have more children... when spouse abusers are restricted in what civil rights they can have and not have... when adulterers lose rights... then come to me and tell me about how immoral homosexuality is and how those who practice homosexuality shouldn't be considered equal under the law of our great land.

I just don't understand why the immoral behavior of ten percent of the population is so much more interesting to you than the immoral behavior of the other 90 percent... the group you claim to be part of...

I suggest you just mind your own business. There is plenty of immoral behavior in your own group for you to ***** about. You don't really care about morality... that is just the excuse you use to pick on gay people. Immorality is not a gay issue... it is a human issue.

Gee, I wonder why people mistake you for a bigot?

Actually their opinion on homosexuality is every bit as valid as your own. Why do you insist that your religious Ideas take precedent over others ideas? Not all of those "main religions" as you call them agree on that subject at all. Many people are also disgusted in hearing your insistence that your chosen interpretation of the Bible(I am assuming that is the book you are referring to) is the only correct one.

Homosexuality IS completely normal.
Being a zealot is not.
Perhaps a little study on the subject backed by actual scholars and not "Joe Thumper" down the street is in order.

In either case, Your religious Ideas have absolutely NO BEARING on the lives of others who do not believe as you do.

It is certainly NOT clear in every religion that homosexuality is immoral. The passages in Leviticus that refer to homosexuality are mentioned in the same breath as "thou shalt not eat shellfish", and as for the New Testament, well, I must have missed the "God Hates Fags" part of the sermon on the mount.

Hinduism contains some very pro-gay statements, and Buddha was an open-minded sort too, as far as I can work out.

Don't twist religion to justify your bigotry.

It's not that homosexuals are trying to make people believe that homosexuality is moral this is the point that most of us are trying to make. Many people look at homosexuality as one of the main sins that God condemns but hmm you have politicians cheating on their wives, commiting child molestation, you have ministers who are perverts, and no one in the world is perfect. Just like Jesus said who ,who has not sinned cast the first stone. No one in this world is perfect everyone sins so for most christians to say we are going to hell and to judge us they need to look at themselves I don't judgeanyone for what they do because i know im not perfect. All I'm worried about is my salvation so to all the people who think im doing wrong or they are worried about what i do i pray for you. Thanks have a blessed day

Liberal-minded persons have an inclination to unlike all people who has what they deliberate to be an previous form way of questioning. yet as George Carlin as quickly as suggested, we predict of in language, so people arise with diverse techniques of asserting a similar venture. with your occasion, liberals arise with techniques of VILIFYING your ideals via attaching a destructive label to them. in case you come across homosexuality immoral, then you definately're prejudiced, a bigot or, confident, homophobic. in case you come across abortion to be immoral or evil, you at the instant are not professional-existence...... you're ANTI-determination (.....i've got rather seen this - I swear i'm not making it up). or perhaps in the recent Democratic race, people have been asserting that if Obama gets the nod, then people who voted against Hillary are sexist. If Hillary had gotten the nod, then unquestionably all people who voted against Obama may well be seen a "racist." rather, we'd desire to consistently nevertheless pay attention this notice tossed around if McCain wins the presidency. people think of that in case you alter the notice, you by some potential replace the habit or the perception. i be attentive to of possibly 20 or so people off the suitable of my head who think of gay marriage is an abomination and that homosexuality is immoral, yet out of those 20, i might say only one in all them is unquestionably, technically HOMOPHOBIC in that he's afraid to be everywhere close to a gay. the different 19 people do only not accept as true with the existence-form. that infrequently makes them petrified of it.

1. The ideas on sexuality in Christianity are mostly the work of St. Augustine, not God or any prophet. These ideas permeated Judaisim and Islam. It's hard for you to argue with me when I know more about your religion than you do.

2. You are a poopyhead.

If they really had a choice, wouldn't they choose to be straight and not have everyone hate them, grow old alone? It is not a choice. If you believe in God, then you must know he doesn't make mistakes. Things that are happening now-a-days is part of the great plan. I don't know anyone that is gay and trying to force you into believing anything. I know gay people that want to be able to be married and live a life with a person they love and grow old and die together like every one that is straight. In short, people don't choose to be gay, but since they are, they want to have a normal life, like all the straight people that think they are better.

You say you are assuming there is a God. So, really, you don't even know for sure there is a God, it is a matter of FAITH, am I right?
So why are you even bothering with this question? Since you have no proof of God's existence, only your faith, how can you be so arrogant as to know God's MIND?
I beg to differ with your claim the homosexuals are trying to "force" everyone else to believe one way or another. I believe they are pleading with the world to let them be, and let them have the same rights as anyone else.

the bilbe is a made up story book other wise known as a law book
from many hunderd years ago
it was writin by man not god
the kings of the times apointed a pope or religous leaders
so that he could be king
and to have no man fill his queet to be thee king
the kingdoms of the time looked at thee popes
as people that talk to god or that get god talkes to them
this was how law came around
every one was to worried about doing there chores so why care
stealing at the time would have got you killed by the law
to stop people thinking it was ok to die as they would only go to heaven so why care
the popes and people with power
decided to creat hell and there fore every one would not sin as they would go to hell when they where killed for stealing etc
this worked for a while in every kingdom
but the kingdoms did not all agree about there religons
and they would go to war to fight for god and there believes
i call all of this brain washing
the people of the time where brain washed and the people that have believe the same things over years are still brain washed
like you are
if you look at the bible look at the stories are any of them believeable like adam and eve and there thre sons that got married
the ark and the flood of the world
water into wine now that would be cool if we were playing pretend

the bible dose not say in it any where that homosexuality is wrong
by god
i could say god said the color red should now be known as whiles
yes that may not make sence
the only reason you think it is immoral is bcuase you have been brain washed to think like the main stream society
don't worry government have been based on these same religous views

we as GLBTI are just trying to fight for equal rights for every one
you can not say it is equal as to men showing love can not marry and show there love for one another or i can not be a female on my papers even though i live as one and have done so for years

to me you are a bigot as bigots are self minded people
brain washed to thinking like the mmain stream
if god is love then why can i not love another man
those laws are the immoral ones
