Most people on here seem to say that drugs and doctors are the only answer. I'm assuming that most posters are from the US because in the UK the doctors are more likely to recommend alternative therapies and herbal remedies. I'm sure this is not due to the UK doctors being more open to these alternatives, but most likely due to the fact that in the UK they have the National Health Service and are not lining the pockets of doctors and drug companies. Holistic healing costs a very small fraction in comparison.
If you are open to holistic healing then it will work for you. All illness is created by our thoughts and these negative blockages can be removed through holistic therapies.
I recently had someone come to me saying that the doctors had found 'grains' in her breasts. I don't know what this means but they had discussed giving her a masectomy. After one reiki session, she said she felt different, as if something had lifted. When she went back to the doctor, the grains were no longer there. This is just one example. I can quote many where it has worked very well for others.
Probably the best example though is Louise Hay. She was diagnosed with cancer and the doctors wanted to operate immediately. She asked for some time and cured herself through her thoughts. She then went on to write the book 'You Can Heal Your Life'.
People can scoff all they like, but I can assure you that doctors and prescription drugs are not always the answer and this seems to be hard for those here in the US to accept.

Truly holistic therapy should be done along with traditional modern medical treatments. That is what is meant by "holistic". You need to address illnesses from an urgent technical need (modern medicine) as well as a balanced, lifestyle approach (alternative treatments).
The bad things about just using alternative/holistic therapy:
-The FDA does not evaluate the therapy's effectiveness.
-Practitioners of alternative/holistic therapies are not legally accountable for malpractice.
-Alternative/holistic therapies are much more effective for preventing illness than treating existing illness.

There is no scientific evidence that homeopathic medicines have any effect on the human body greater than a simple "placebo effect". Passé as it may be in homeopathic circles, conventional medicine is the only medicine that has any scientific proof behind it.
Anybody who says otherwise are simply trying to sell their wares or have been sucked in by somebody else who was.
Also, despite what homeopaths may say, there is not some huge, evil, scientist/doctor conspiracy hellbent on keeping the un-patentable natural cures away from the public. The natural cures simply don't exist. This is why you never hear cancer patients saying "Oh yeah, I just chewed on some ginger and had some tea and the tumor disappeared. I'm all better now."
Consult with your doctor for the best way to treat whatever ailment you may have. Best of luck.

the disadvantages of holistic therapy are that takes a long period of time to obtain the proper healing, therefore it could become pricey.
the advantages would be that is pure on the body because no drug prescription are involved or surgery.
other therapies would, acupuncture, Chinese medicine, yoga
but if you have an advance medical problem you seek western medicine, in other words seek a proper doctor immediately.
