If it is how he tries to play games with his new one and that kind of stuff but you don't want him back - why would you need to participate. If you want him back - yeah, it may be OK, but there are better ways of getting back together. This looks too much like he wants to use you to hurt this other girl.

If it's hurting someone else who has to watch (your date or his date), then it's wrong. That is the behavior of a jerk. If you want to get back together, do it on your own time, not theirs.
