You'll be 18 soon. If you both still feel the same then you can be together.

One thing is certain, if you kill yourself you will never see him again!
When I was your age I was madly in love with my childhood sweetheat and felt the same way you do. He went into the Marine Corps and was killed in Viet Nam.
I thought my life was over and yes, I wanted to die. But I never for one minute considered ending my own life. For a long time I don't know how I managed but I made it through, one day at a time. One day turned into one week and one week turned into one month and so on.
You might find it difficult to believe me now but time "does" help with the pain you are feeling. You CAN live without him and you SHOULD. All life is a gift. I have been married now to a wonderful man for over 33 years and he truly has been "the love of my life".
However, if he is what you really want, then he will still be there when you are 18. Do what you need to do until you are able to finance your trip, and go back to be with him. Don't throw your life away, it's too precious.
Good luck and God bless.

Killing yourself is not gonna solve your problem. If you really love this guy and he loves you, in less than a yr, possibly, you could be back together. DO NOT give up. Youre only 17, it seems impossible right now, (I KNOW THE FEELING) but, just hold on. This is no reason to kill yourself. You two can be back together soon, if you plan it right.
Stay in touch with him, you will get it all worked out. Youre free when youre 18!

If you truly are having suicidal thoughts, you need to march yourself straight down to your parents, or a friend old enough to drive, and have them take you to the nearest emergency room. They will be able to direct you to the nearest mental health facility,
As one who has contemplated this sort of thing before in the past, let me tell you that it is bloody well worth staying alive for! I would have missed some of the best moments Ive ever had, had I one through with it. Don't give up this soon!

In 1 year you are 18 and you can do as you wish. Get a job, save money, and return when you are 18.

leaving some one behind is no reason to kill yourself. You have so much to look forward to. New friends, education and growing up. I know it hurts to leave a loved one behind but you will meet someone special whereever you are. Just believe in youself and keep the faith.

Next year you will be 18... go and be with him then. If he is worth killing yourself over, then he is worth waiting a year to where you can actually be together.
