I made $6 an hour when I was your age, and that was 10 years ago. It depends on the circumstances though. If she's a single mother that can't afford much else and you enjoy the kids, then it's acceptable. Besides, the 11 year old probably takes care of his/herself. In the future though, I'd ask for $7 an hour. You're watching someone's kids--a precious/irreplacable part of their lives and you deserve to be compensated for taking on that responsibility.

Yeah, thats good. When I was 13, I made a little over 1 dollar an hour (for THREE kids). Yup... I got ripped off BIG TIME. But, the parents didn't say "$--- an hour" when they hired me. They said "$75 a week". To me, that sounded great at 13... then I did the math after I had been baby sitting for a week or two... from the hours I worked (6 am to 6 pm... EVERYDAY except Saturday) I was making a little over a dollar an hour. :(
Good thing they were within walking distance of my house so I could just walk with all of them over to my house and hang out for the day...

When I used to babysit almost ten years ago, I would charge $5/hr for one kid and up the amount by a dollar for each additional kid. A lot of times though, people didn't even ask and I would just take whatever they gave me...

Always have the parent name their price and leave your self an out. Babysitting is a priceless it's more of a community service! What parent doesn't wish they could pay more for the security of their child?? Everyone pays what they can. If you are in it for the money you are in the wrong field..Already. ;)
Enjoy the kids, remember that they are tomorrows future and that you are doing a service by simply caring.
Best wishes..

you may desire to be at present along with her and tell her what number you are able to shield. I even have 5 youngsters of my own and there is no way i might assume a 15 12 months previous to shield 5 youngsters. in case you nevertheless desire to babysit for this female then possibly ask her in case you will get a chum over to assist and ask for slightly greater funds as you may then might desire to chop up it with your buddy? solid success!

I watched my friend's kid for $3 because daycare is so expensive. I did it out of the kindness of my heart. So yeah, I'd say that's alright.
