Of course that will have an effect! Your glutts are just like any other muscle, when they are not being used they will atrophy (shrink). But it's not like the poor thing is going to shrivel up like a raisen. =)

Also...as my personal trainer/nutritionist has discussed with me many times...if you aren't taking protein supplements and eating properly (every two to three hours, and healthy) you won't maintain that muscle you're gaining, because when your body is hungry or depleted of nutrients it will eat your muscles first. If you DO eat right and maintain a healthy protein intake you'll keep your bum for as long as you are active enough to keep those muscles working. =)

Maybe, has your bum gotten bigger from doing squats? If so, then I would think it would go back, but it might take some time!
