how can i make a picture black and white?

Question

i want a black and white picture on my myspace.
when i putit in paint and i click black and white the whole thing messes up and the whole picture goes black.
HOW CAN I DO IT.

Download Picasa 2. Its a great photo organizing and editing tool brought to you by Google.

as zak said, the above product is good, but I prefer Ifranview found here http://www.filehippo.com/download_irfanview/ all you have to do is open the image with it and click 'image' then 'convert to greyscale' works awesome, also good for resizing for websites. Both can do the same things, just comes down to personal preference.
