well i was busy moving from one house to another with no help and a hurt back..and a neighbor of mine who has cancer walked by so (knowing his time is precious) i stopped him and we talked for a long time about all kinds of things >>he seemed cheered up which in turn made me feel great and somehow moving didn't seem to be such a big deal anymore...

I sincerely hope I made a positive change in the life of a person on yahoo that was depressed over the loss of a loved one. I gave her a positive message based on my own experience with the same situation that she is in. A message of understanding, compassion, and caring. A message that said it will get better, for her to reach out to others, to God, and to reach within herself. To seek happiness, after a time of rebuilding. She is naturally depressed and emotionally, and physically exhausted after this struggle, and needs support to rebuild her reserves, and find a new dream, and a new life. I draw from my own experience after the death of my siblings, and parents, and a devastating divorce after 29 years. I hope to help any one I can with advice, prayer, and support. I know that the words of a stranger on line cannot cure all a persons ills. But I know and believe that at least it can give a person pause for thought, and a positive contact, and a shoulder or ear to rely on. Maybe a catalyst for things to grow from. .

Hmmm...
My sister-in-law got her wedding picture prints today, and HATES them...but she loved the ones I had taken for myself. So I printed them off for her and am making her an album of nice pictures. I think that will make a difference in her life.
Oh yeah, and I donated $2 at the liquor store today...lol...it said on the box that my donation would make a difference in someone's life.

Usually you can't make a change in someone's life. You can only facilitate change if they're interested in changing. It's the old story; you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. Today I tried to interest someone in a business deal that I think is sound, not the sort of thing you'd see advertised on late night TV. Now it's up to him.

I spent my day helping a friend raise money for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. We winterized lawn sprinkler systems and gave all the money to the Foundation. It was a great feeling to know that we were helping the kids.

Fed a duck. Took my son to the park. Got my husband's car washed. But the other day a lady in line in front of me at Starbucks didn't have enough money, so I paid for her coffee.

I tossed a homeless guy's junk in the trash and took his stolen shopping cart back to the store he stole it from. That made a difference for the store manager.
