they can both be used top make a capacitor and wires.
in a capacitor a conductor holds the charge while the insulators separate the conductors.
in a wire the metal in the middle is the conductor and the insulator is the rubber on the outside for safety and to stop short-circuiting

conductors are used to transport electricity, the obvious answer, the depending on the conductor other uses will vary. copper can make pennies, mixed with tin make brass, is used in plumbing, aluminum can make cans or foil. nickle obviously makes coins. insulators prevent the flow of electricity as one use, make windows (plastic or glass) coat a wire or make tires for transportation (tires)
