when we were considering names for my daughter, the name we choose was very different and strange to me. The one my husband chose and I agreed to was one that I sware, I had never, ever heard before. But within a year of her birth, I was hearing Sasha's name everywhere.
I tell you this story because it really is true - there is nothing new under the sun and it may just be more important to ask God since names do mean something.

My eldest daughter's name is Butterfly. But since it's already used, I guess it isn't really unique, is it ;-)

Here's a web site that has tons of names, separated by category and boy/girl. There are some really interesting ones. I know you want something unique, but please remember that your kids has to live with it, and other kids can be really cruel. I have an unusual name, and most people mispronounce it, which was really embarrassing when I was a kid, and sometimes even now.

"Unique" how? Maybe give some more specifications, because that is a very vague request. Tell us your race, or maybe a letter to start the name with, then we could be pointed in a direction better. Otherwise, someone could say something like "cumquat"...you may not like it, but it's unique, isn't it?
