Swim more and stop and rest less.

When I was on swim team we did a lot of things that increased our stamina and our speed. Stamina comes first though and you can only do that by swimming more and pushing yourself harder.

Don't let yourself stop, just push through. I swam 500s and 50s as my main events. The 500s required a lot more stamina and one thing I found that worked well for me was to distract part of my brain. Instead of thinking how hard I was working, I did math. I know it sounds wierd, but I was a math nerd (lol) and would calculate that I was 1/10th through or 33%, etc.

Once you've perfected your stroke (or at least have a good solid stroke) just let your mind go and keep swimming. Do not think about how tired you are. Focus on something else. If telling yourself you *can't* stop until you've completed 20 laps is what you have to do, then do it.

Have fun and enjoy it. I miss being in the pool 5 hours a day. :D

Yes, it will improve stamina. However, don't believe you can run a mile in under 4 minutes if you can swim fast. Swimming stamina and running stamina are different, though doing both will benifit you greatly

Try doing lots of drills. Also, build a lot. By "Building" I mean one day swim 10 laps, then the next day 20, the next day 30, and so on. You don't have to make the difference in between each 10. Why not 5? or 20? Also, try eating healthy before and after you swim(or just try all the time)! Also, maybe you can start jogging around your neighborhood!

well basically just work very very very hard in practice, even if it means sprintin a 500 or 1000. also, maybe run 1 mile every mornin or sometime every day. any other physical activity will build up ur stamina.

swim 5000+ yards a day like i did. after 3 months of that training under a phenomenal coach, i dropped 23 seconds in my 200 breast, 5 second in my 100 free, and much more

by pushing yourself just a little bit further each time or try using paddles(gloves that are webbed) and not kicking or try holding a kickboard out in front and just kicking hope this helps dude

Push yourself until you reach you breaking limits everyday. and also mix it up with some cardio and weight training so your muscles will build.
