Measure at your waist, hip bones, largest part of hips/butt, rise, inseam, around thighs if you want a slimmer fit.

It's going to be difficult to make the pattern from scratch. Pants are weird to make, and the waist has to be cut MUCH higher than your pants are going to be...you have to leave room for seaming, waistband, etc.

Here's what I'd do if I were you. Take an old pair of pants that you like but don't wear any longer, or if you don't have one you're willing to sacrifice, go to a thrift store or yard sale and pick up a pair. Use a seam ripper or razor blade, take them apart at the seams, then use them for your pattern!

If you start with a pair of pants that fit you the way you like it, you're going to get a pattern from them that you really like!

i think you should just go buy one...... pants are weird to make

wal-mart sells patterns for cheep
