My dad talks to his girlfriend like she is dirt under his shoes and that he is a God, blah blah blah. He talks to me like that to, which I am also a girl. My question is do you think that it is even the least but okay for a man to talk to a woman disrespectufully no matter the circumstances? If you do think so then why?

It is never right for a man to speak to a woman in a disrespectful way! He is no better than anyone else...In my eyes, men who demean women do so because they themselves are trying to compensate for their inadequacies.

That is verbal abuse anyway you want to look at it. No body, male or female should talk to any one in a bad way. The verbal abuse goes deep inside of you and it can and will cause you to have mental problems in life. It will make you feel that you are not worth a thing to your self and that you will not be good enough for anybody that might be good to you in life.

talking to you or her is disrespectful, is he abusive physically?? He is probably insecure and thinks he is being really macho and showing you who is boss.Men should give you respect and you and the girlfriend should demand it from your father or anyone else.Men like this try to bring you down to their level ,do not put up with it, what about your mom does she know he is doing this?? He needs some counseling

Verbal abuse can be devastating and lead to other bad things. I don't think it is ever okay to speak to someone as if you were a god, no matter the situation.

no , men have no reason to treat women like they do , the ones that do , have no respect for women, and don't care how they treat them , your dad must have low self esteem issues, and you need to try talking to him , ask him why he treats you'all so shitty.
