I received some home-made baby food from a friend, and just wanted to make sure that it is safe to feed a 6 month old kiwi.

Kiwi is very acidic and may cause a diaper rash or upset tummy. It is up to you as to whether or not to try it. Other than that reason, I don't see it being unsafe.

Perfectly safe, though definately acidic. Also, remember it's important to not introduce too many foods at once, in case of allergies. Much easier to pin point the source of the problem if you only introduce 1 new thing at a time. :)

Oh and if the baby food has the seeds in it, you might be seeing those again.

Make sure there are no Kiwi allergies in the family as it is one of those fruits to be cautious about giving it to infants....I know a few people allergic to them and they both react the same way....Their throats swell up and can barely breath.

My DD is 17mths and hasn't had Kiwi yet. Her aunt it allergic to it.

Gee, ain't it grand you come on a public forum where anyone can claim to be anything, a doctor, a mother, or hey even God himself to give you advise on your child's health and well being but in fact they are simply a pimply faced teen who hasn't seen the light of day for a week since he keeps locked up in his room, on the computer pretending to have all these answers.
With a question involving the health of your child, call the doctor!!!

any new food should be introduced to a baby slowly, only one new food a week.
