Ok so I hurt my pinky finger really bad by walking down the stairs and then jumping over the last step...I then hit it accidentally on a ledge by the wall while jumping. Anyways, that was about 4 months ago and the finger is not in pain always; but it will be in severe pain if it gets bumped or bent..(like if I were to try to crack my knuckles I think I would cry from the pain). It was never treated and I never took it to the doctor (no insurance for another month or so). But I have had a sprain before and all they did was splint my finger. I do not know if this is even a sprain or what it is, really. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Will the pain ever go away? It doesn't seem to be getting any better. Everytime it gets hit or bent the wrong way it hurts very much. I know I should take it to the doctor and I probably will soon but I really don't see what they could do about it. Any info would be nice! Thanks!

It sounds to me like you may have jammed it. Except for the fact that it's been four months. Generally, jams don't hurt for that long. I would recommend getting it checked out by a doctor as soon as possible. Four months is a long time for a joint to be injured.
